Capital Metro Opens Newest Park & Ride in Manor

Yesterday Capital Metro marked the opening of the Manor Park & Ride with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new facility, the 15th Park & Ride in the Capital Metro system. The facility represents another milestone for Capital Metro as the agency continues to drive progress in the Austin area and better serve its riders in Eastern Travis County.

Capital Metro CEO Linda Watson was joined by Manor Mayor Jeff Turner and Elgin Mayor Marc Holm, as well as several Capital Metro Board Members to celebrate the occasion.

Situated on 1.19 acres with space for 68 vehicles and 4 bicycles, the Manor Park & Ride is served by the 990 Manor-to-Austin bus route, with extended service to Elgin provided in partnership with CARTS. Daily boardings for this route have nearly doubled in the last year and tripled over the past six years.

The locally funded project is part of Capital Metro's investment in providing high-quality and effective service for its riders. The facility is part of the All Systems Go! Long-Range Transportation Plan to address population growth for Eastern Travis County and beyond, and is also part of a regional evaluation for the Green Line by Project Connect.
