Milton Verret Presents $1 Million Donation to Superhero Kids

Following a record-breaking live auction of 40 of the famous Austin Art Cows, title sponsor Milton Verret on Friday presented a check for $1 million to the Superhero Kids Endowment at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Superhero Kids co-founders Samia and John Joseph, along with other founding members, accepted the check on behalf of the Superhero Kids Endowment in the Dell Children’s Auditorium at the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.

Established in December 2009, the Superhero Kids Endowment has provided support and helped cover essential quality of life costs for patients and their families at the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center of Central Texas. More than 200 patients and their families have been helped by Superhero Kids donations; funds have provided food for families, transportation, school supplies and a college scholarship. Mr. Verret announced that the first of this donation money will provide a wig and prosthesis for a 13-year-old patient.

The famous art cows, which were on display throughout Austin from July to October, have been moo-ved to their new homes after the exciting public auction on Nov. 13, 2011 hosted by the Tonight Show’s Jay Leno. Austin broke and then later tied the world record for highest bid on an art cow with two cows being sold for $150,000 each.
